How to Check Engine Oil

  1.  Place your car at the level place. Stop the engine.
  2. Wait for a couple of minutes to let the engine oil flow down in the bottom of the engine - the crankcase oil pan.
  3. Open the hood. Take off the engine oil dipstick. It may be placed in various area of the engine depending of the engine model (check owners manual where it is placed in your car).
  4. Dry it with a clean rag or tissue. Then stick it back all the way down into its place.
  5. Take off the dipstick again and check the oil level. Normally it should be at "FULL" mark. For example, here you may see that it's lower a bit. You can drive with such a level but it would be better for the engine to add the oil till the level be full.

Check the oil condition also: If it's too black, it's
time to change it. If it's slightly-brown, it's O.K. If
it's dark-brown, but still transparent, it's admissible.
If it's white (as the coffee with milk) it means the engine coolant mixes with the engine oil. Have
your engine inspected by the mechanic.
